Personal update:
For those that don't know it, my step-father has been going through an ordeal recently. Over the years he has been a national champion diver, played professional football, been in the Navy, and worked as a fireman. Among the physical problems that have manifested themselves, an x-ray found a broken neck that had healed incorrectly (a broken neck that was never diagnosed or treated), knee surgery, back surgery, and both hips have been replaced. While trim and fit in his youth, he has been well into the obese category for years.
Standard lifetime of a hip replacement is 10-15 years, with increased wear and tear with increased weight. One hip has already been replaced twice, the other only once, and now they are both going bad again. The first hip replacement began a little over a year ago, and resulted in problem after problem. I don't remember everything in the correct order but:
Staff infection, stabbed in the hip with a dirty needle, kidneys shut down causing heart medicine overload leading to a psychotic episode, picked up by the wrong ambulance and transferred to a full lock-down center for seniors who need 24 hour surveillance, bed sores with skin infection, hip didn't fit right and had to be removed and put back in backwards to work, and after it was all said and done half the muscles in his left thigh are gone between infections and atrophy resulting in his left leg being 1"+ shorter than his right leg.
Now it is time to replace his right hip and everything was going great until they found the skin infection showing up again. The infection was bad enough to admit him to OHSU in Portland, but a high heart rate, low blood pressure, and chest pains moved him to ICU within the day. Currently he is technically released from ICU, but due to lack of beds is still up there. ~~~~~
This next little video is a fine example of Sam's unique organization skill. This particular puzzle is you can't see it is the United States map. He was given this puzzle about 5 minutes before I grabbed the camera, and I helped him about 4 times and next thing I knew he had it. I was so proud of him.

If you've been reading Harmony's blog you know that we recently made a trip to the Washington coast and found a beach we love. Sam loved looking for shells and Evie had the time of her life playing in the water.

Well that's all for now, back to Facebook and Maplestory.
