Small update

Not sure what I'm gonna type this time, not much is happening. Or maybe I should say a lot is happening but not much new.

Harmony has decided to volunteer with me in the 2's and 3's at church. Since we made the decision to home school I have come to realize that working 40 hours a week will make it difficult for me to be active in my kids education. My solution is to volunteer in their Sunday School class. Beginning with Sam when he was in the nursery, I have given 1 weekend a month in his class. When he moved up to the 2's and 3's class, I did the same. With Evie I am doing the same thing. Well Harmony has repeatedly heard me mention how we just don't have enough adults to help in these preschool classes, and decided to come help me out. We also decided to move Evie from the Nursery up to the 2's and 3's early. As a result we are in that class twice a month, usually as the only two teachers.

Potty training is going well. Sam has been using a potty seat for almost 2 years now, but has been slow in using a big toilet. He is now getting the hang of sitting and pointing. As an extension to this, we purchase a new toilet seat. The old one didn't have the little pads on the bottom. As a result, anytime he pee'd and missed the bowl, the seat would rest in a puddle and just soaked it up. We couldn't get rid of the smell of urine no matter how much bleach we used.

Evie has been doing great, with only one accident every few days. Over all she is doing better than Sam did at the same age. To make matters better, her constant need to imitate Sam has resulted in her actively choosing to sit on the adult toilet, and is taking to it like a fish to water.

Work continues at an unbelievable pace. There are times that the pressure is so high I have to stop and remind myself I am blessed to even have a job. Our 4 person team is still short one person. The final position has yet to receive final approval. That hasn't stopped them from upping our work load to one that would challenge a 6 person team.

This last week Melody came up to visit, bringing Aiden with her. I tell you that kid is so much brighter than people give him credit for. His communication skills are moving along great, and he definitely has Melody wrapped around his little finger. Sorry to say is Sis, but he knows how to pull your strings. I believe he has developed a "stay silent and they won't make me do it" attitude as a result of having a mom, grandma, and day care, each with different discipline types. When he gets in trouble I watched him stop, drop his chin, and silently watch the room to evaluate the adults. While he would respond to Mel, he often refused to even make eye contact with me. He seemed to act as if he waited long enough I would give up. A very intelligent mind behind those eyes. I believe he will do great things later in life.

That's all for now, just a little ramble.
