Long nights and long weekends

Last night was a long one for me, and a bad night for Sam. I didn't really look at the clock, but somewhere in the midnight to 1AM area I woke up to realize that Sam was walking around our room. He was shuffling from Harmony's side of the bed past me towards the door. I could hear him sniffling like he was trying really hard not to cry and wake us up. I called him over and confirmed he had a bad dream and started to pick him up to snuggle with me a while.

YUCK! Sam was soaked from the middle of his back to his knees. He stumbled along with me to his room, where we found a 2 foot wet spot on his sheets. His pillow was wet, his favorite blanket was wet, his mattress was wet, on top of his pajamas. He was so out of it and miserable he couldn't even begin to take his PJs off without help. After getting him into dry clothes I put him to bed with mom and grabbed some clean sheets and a new pillow.

He snuggled a little while as I pulled out the trundle we keep for Aiden's visits, he joined me and watched while I put on new sheets and lay down the new pillow. I told him that his blanket it wet and he will have to sleep with the big spotted blanket tonight, and put him to bed on the trundle.

My alarm goes off at 6AM, and shortly after planting myself on the toilet Sam comes into the bedroom crying again, forcing his way into the bathroom, and climbs into my lap for a cuddle hug. I convinced him to crawl into my empty bed spot, and he began to relax. When I stepped out of the bathroom to start getting dressed he crawled out of bed and told me he wanted to sleep, and promptly headed back to his room.

....

We have been planning on taking a 5 day weekend starting this Thursday.

Plan 1) My brother David is a leader in Royal Rangers, a boys group affiliated with the Assembly of God church. The leaders and older boys form a sub group call FCF, Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship. They focus on authentic mountain man camping experiences. This weekend is their family camp. Anyone can come, but if you do not follow the FCF rules you have to camp on the visitor side of the stream, and visit the FCF side. If you want to camp on the FCF side, you need to adhere to authenticity. We can't afford the gas or extra food right now, so this plan went good by.

Plan 2) Staycation - visit family. Some variation of staying at home, driving to Oregon and staying with family, having them drive up to stay with us, to include a beach trip for the kids, maybe help family with a garage sale....nothing solid was locked in, but this was the plan until last night.

Plan 3) Talia and Jacob are taking the weekend to drive up to Idaho and pack up the stuff in the house and bring it back down. Harmony and I are now recruited to make the trip with them, and hopefully we can empty the house and storage unit this weekend. With a little bit of good timing, Melody is still off work, school hasn't started yet, and she is willing to watch Sam and Evie the 2 nights we will be gone.

Please pray for open roads, good weather, and strong backs.
